The Women’s Garden

The Giardino delle Donne is one of the most picturesque and panoramic spots in the medieval village of Avigliana, situated right in the heart of the historic centre, just a short walk from the central Piazza Conte Rosso. This space was created as a public viewpoint, an oasis of tranquillity surrounded by greenery that offers visitors a splendid, unobstructed view of the surrounding landscape. Designed as a place to rest and reflect, the garden combines the beauty of nature with the historical heritage of the area, making it an ideal meeting place for locals and tourists alike who wish to discover the town’s ancient charm.

Within the garden lies an open-air art gallery known as ‘Le pareti dei ceramisti’ (The Potters’ Walls). This permanent urban art project transforms the garden’s walls into a collective canvas, featuring dozens of unique artistic ceramic tiles and panels. Each piece has been created by master potters and artists who wished to contribute their creativity to embellish and enhance this public space. The walls thus showcase a variety of styles, colours and craft techniques, blending seamlessly with the surrounding medieval architecture and transforming a simple stroll into a visual and emotional journey through contemporary ceramic art.
